Frequently Asked Questions Do you participate in my dental insurance?Although we do not participate in any particular dental insurance, we will submit all insurance claims for payment. We ask that you pay any balance, not covered by the insurance company, at the time the service is rendered. Please be assured that we will work with you to insure that you receive the maximum benefits to which you are entitled, but we caution that reimbursement amounts are not, and never have been, a guideline for quality care. We would like to stress that the financial responsibility of dental treatment rests with the patient regardless of insurance coverage and payment. We cannot guarantee payment by the insurance company for your claims. What types of payments do you accept? Our office accepts cash and checks, as well as Discover, MasterCard, and Visa payments. We also offer additional payment options (arranged in advance), if necessary. In addition, we offer 0% financing for qualified patients through Care Credit. You can log onto carecredit.com ahead of time and find out if you are pre-approved for financing. We also offer a 5% senior citizen discount for all patients over the age of 60.
Do you take new patients and emergencies?Yes, we do accept new patients. Your first appointment with our practice will be a complete oral examination to assess your current oral health and give us the opportunity to properly diagnose any treatment needs. We also realize that dental emergencies arise. We strive to respond to these problems promptly to relieve any discomfort as soon as possible. If you should require emergency dental treatment, we ask that you call as early in the day as possible, so that we can make every effort to accommodate you that day. If your problem arises after regular business hours, please call our office and you will be instructed how to reach the dentists. Do you see children?Yes, we love having children as part of our dental practice. The ideal age for the child's first dental treatment is between the ages of 2-3. We strive to make your child have a pleasant first dental experience. This can be accomplished by having the child seen before there are any dental problems that may be causing pain. For anxious dental patients that require more extensive treatment, we have the availability and training to provide treatment with nitrous oxide or "laughing gas". Do you still use silver fillings? In most cases, we use a more biocompatible tooth filling called composite. We rarely use silver fillings, however there are still a few instances where silver may be the best filling choice. The American Dental Association continues to do research to identify any harmful effects of silver amalgam fillings. To this date, they have found NO correlation between amalgam fillings and any health problem. Do you provide all dental services in your office? We try to provide our patients with as many services as possible in our office. However, there are some situations which we feel are better treated with a specialist. We have many excellent specialists that we refer to in our local community. |
